___________________________ The 23rd annual West Texas Turfgrass & Irrigation Conference and Trade Show is just around the corner. The dates are October 26-28. This year's conference will be at The Coliseum in Snyder. The headquarters hotel will be the Holiday Inn Express. The annual golf tournament and barbecue will be Monday, October 26 at Sammy Baugh Golf Course at Western Texas College. There will be a morning shotgun and an afternoon shotgun. The cost is $30 per player. The barbecue will be at The Coliseum and is complimentary to say "Thank You" to all the members who make the association work. The trade show and silent auction will be open on Monday before the barbecue and Tuesday. Turfgrass sessions will be on Tuesday, and irrigation sessions on Wednesday. Once more pesticide applicators and licensed irrigators will be able to earn CEUs toward their license renewal. Education points through GCSAA will also be offered. Hours for the trade show and silent auction will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Monday and from the morning break to the afternoon break on Tuesday. The booths will be ready Sunday afternoon for setup and need to be taken down after the afternoon break on Tuesday. There is an overhead door where equipment can be driven into the trade show area. We ask that the fuel level in all equipment be as low as possible. The room will be locked at night. Booths are only available to members. Prices on the trade show booths are $300 per 10' x 10' booth with additional booths costing $150 each. If your company has sponsored our meetings and conference this past year for the maximum amount of $250 (4 meetings + conference at $50/ each) , the price for all booths is $150. The booths will have one 6' x 30" skirted table, two chairs, and one ID head sign along with drapes for the backdrop and booth dividers. Booth selection is on a first-come, first-serve basis so be sure to list your 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices on the enclosed form. If you need electricity, there is an additional charge of $18 per cord. Each exhibitor will receive two complimentary lunch tickets per booth on Tuesday. Additional tickets may be purchased for $20 each for lunch. To reserve your first choice, please send the following as quickly as possible: your check or credit card information; 1st, 2nd and 3rd choices on booth selection(s); electricity order; the names and titles of your representatives; and the names of those who will be eating lunch on Tuesday. No refunds for booths can be given after October 12. Don't forget the Silent Auction - If you are interested in donating to the auction, please contact me as soon as possible with the name, description and cost of each item. The items do not have to be golf-related. And you do not have to have a booth to participate in the auction. As I get the items, I'll list them on our website (please send or e-mail a picture if possible) and in the September newsletter. The items will be displayed during the trade show where interested parties can bid on them. When the trade show closes so will the auction, and arrangements will be made at that time for the buyer to take or have the product delivered to him. Hotel information - And last but not least - Don't forget your 2010 membership dues are due at this time. The dues are $65 per individual member or $20 per student member who is in a registered GLT program. Get your dues in so you won't miss being listed in membership directory.
