Golf Course Superintendent - The position of Golf Course Superintendent is currently open at Ward County Golf Course located in Monahans, Texas.  The position involves complete management of all aspects of golf course maintenance activities.  A staff of five full-time course employees supports this working superintendent role. The superintendent reports to a board of directors appointed by the Ward County Golf Association.

Following is a compensation and benefit summary:

Salary:  $35,000 - $60,000 per year (commensurate with qualifications)   

Benefits:  Health & Life insurance provided

Other Considerations:  Housing, vehicle, relocation assistance and performance bonus

The course is still under construction with a Spring opening planned. The fairways are common Bermuda and the greens are bentgrass. Golf Course Manager – The City of Lamesa is accepting resumes for the position of Golf Course Manager.  Manager responsibilities for this 9-hole Municipal Golf Course include management of 2 full time employees.  Candidate must possess good people skills while being able to communicate and report to City Manager.  Must possess the ability to analyze, monitor and remain within the constraints of a budget.  Manager will be responsible for all aspects of course maintenance, including fertilization, pesticide programs, irrigation and equipment and equipment repair.  Candidate must possess a valid Texas Pesticide Applicators License.

Compensation for this position will be $32,000 per year.  Benefits include housing, health insurance, retirement, vehicle allowance and tournament allowance.

Golf Course Superintendent - Opening at Sweetwater Country Club. Requires an Associates degree or certificate in related field and 2-3 years prior experience on golf course is preferred. Must possess a VALID TEXAS PESTICIDE APPLICATORS LICENSE. Position requires a very hands-on candidate who is both mechanically inclined and has considerable knowledge of applying and implementing fertilization and pesticide programs. Prior experience of irrigation repair and monitoring of watering schedules is a plus. Ability to play and understand game from a golfer's standpoint and superintendents view as well is a must.


Will have crew management of 2 to 3 workers in winter and 4 to 6 in summer. Superintendent will be responsible for all aspects of course maintenance, including maintaining clubhouse grounds and irrigation of clubhouse grounds. Organized maintenance scheduling, including but not limited to backlapping and height of cut settings. Oil changes, etc required, as well as accurate record keeping of maintenance and pesticide and fertilizer applications in a manner consistent with requirements of TDA. Candidate must possess people skills and be able to communicate and report to board of directors as well as MGA president. Superintendent will be responsible for all purchases and orders, ranging from parts and maintenance, irrigation supplies, fertilizer, pesticides and all necessities of golf course maintenance. Ability to analyze, monitor and remain within constraints of budget is also required. Salary commensurate with experience.
 

Local chapter and national GCSAA dues paid as well as travel and conference expenses to achieve CEUs needed to maintain TDA license. Assistance with cell phone bill included. TDA license paid for by employer.
